"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." – Lisa Olivera
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I offer online individual therapy in New York for adults seeking support, clarity, and guidance through life’s challenges.
I have training in treating mood disorders—including depression and bipolar disorder—as well as trauma, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and relationship issues. I also support individuals coping with stress related to major life transitions, such as career changes, parenting challenges, or divorce.
My counseling approach is warm, person‑centered, and compassionate. I take an integrative approach to therapy, guided by Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Strengths-Based practices to help clients better understand the roots of their struggles and experience meaningful relief from distressing symptoms. I also offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy for individuals who want to develop practical skills—such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance—to navigate life with greater confidence. For clients who wish to incorporate faith into the therapeutic process, I can also provide counseling from a Catholic perspective.
My approach specifically to trauma therapy is grounded in evidence-informed, skills-based methods that support safety, stabilization, and healing. I work with individuals experiencing the effects of single-event trauma as well as complex trauma, drawing on Dr. Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy adapted for PTSD.
My clients often begin therapy feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to cope. Over time, they grow more self‑aware, hopeful, knowledgeable, and empowered.
Sometimes we all feel stuck and need support to move forward. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out for a free fifteen‑minute consultation where I can answer any questions you may have about getting started.
